Have you taken time today, dear sister to stop and consider that you are seated in the heavenly places – right now – with Jesus! Think about this for a second:
“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus… “(Eph. 2:4-6).
I would encourage you to visit Eph. 2:1-7 to sit in the greater magnitude of this truth today, but this morning the Lord brought my focus specifically to me (and YOU) being seated with Jesus right now in the heavenly places. Being seated with Jesus means there is no reason for me to feel lonely – I am never alone. There is no room for fear – I am right next to the Savior, the all-powerful One. There is no pressure to live a life of performance – Jesus has already accepted me and chosen me to be seated with Him. This is freeing! This is grace -- not anything that I have earned or anything that I am now called to try to earn, Jesus is the One who has given me this position. So close your eyes and envision this scene of you being seated with Jesus in the heavenly places…
When I closed my eyes to envision myself seated next to Jesus, this feeling of unworthiness swept in. Maybe you feel the same way? Like how could I possibly be “worthy” enough to be seated with Jesus? I am still such a work in progress, still in need of so much growth.
I realized the enemy was trying to keep me feeling unworthy and therefore, I was m i s s i n g the Gospel. The Gospel says, you are unworthy but Jesus took your punishment and now places His worth upon you. He has made you worthy and now before the eyes of God, you are seen through the righteousness of Christ. If you continue on in this passage of Eph. 2, you’ll get to verses 8-9 that make it clear, salvation has nothing to do with us but is only an act of God’s grace – His worthiness now upon us. Don’t miss this. Don’t miss the Gospel. Don’t miss grace.
You are seated now with Christ because of what Jesus has done upon the cross, because of grace. Walk in this grace today, dear sister. Walk in your rightful position as a free, worthy, daughter of the King, seated with Jesus! You are with JESUS.
