A couple months ago I had an unusual experience “under the stars.” As I live in a city in Asia that is often so polluted (by lights and smog) that I see no stars or an occasional few stars, I had not realized how many could actually be seen with the naked eye in some places. Two sisters and I were invited to give our seminar to three hundred women church leaders in the deep mountain forests in Northern Thailand. One night we walked out of a church in a small village and looked up only to see the most breath-taking show of lights that I had ever seen. It seemed that the whole sky was full of so many bright stars that they were practically touching and making an umbrella of light over our heads. I was speechless. Never had I seen so many shining stars.
This week I was reading the book of Philippians and was taken back to this memory. “Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe” - Philippians 2:14-15...
