"As a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you” (Isaiah 62:5b).
Notice in this verse, that it uses the word bridegroom rather than husband, and bride rather than wife. Christ is the Bridegroom and we (the Church) are the Bride. What does the Lord want us to glean about our relationship with Him by describing it as being a Groom and Bride’s relationship? …………………………………………………………………....................................................
The title given to us as the “Bride” is to depict the idea of excitement, extreme pleasure, contentment, and happy anticipation of the future. Revelation 19:7-9 tells us that one day we (the Bride) will be a part of a magnificent wedding to our Bridegroom, the Lamb of God. As we already studied, God sees you as holy, pure, and completely forgiven. He looks at you as His beloved bride in whom He rejoices.
“The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight over you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing” (Zephaniah 3:17).
Your groom is rejoicing over you today, dear sister…
Happy Valentine’s Day <3
