In long, lonely winter seasons--of which we all inevitably walk through--spring feels uncertain and distant. The mundanity of these long stretches of winter can feel maddening and that's when the insidious longing sets in, a yearning to move past the arid terrain from which nothing grows...or so it often seems. There is beauty there, too. Look closely. The crystalline show, your breath in the frigid air. You're still alive here, despite the stagnanc
y. Choose to see beauty in the little things, even the seasons you didn't want; even when you're so sick of the cold. We serve the author of time. He stretches seasons and he quickens them, too. Soon, it will be spring again, and flowers will bloom plentiful in the garden of your life. Until then, train your eyes to collude with the muscle of gratitude.
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
